Public speaking is encouraged as a discipline at Union High from grade 5 through to grade 12. Talented speakers are identified in language classes and encouraged to participate in the junior or senior speech competitions during the year.
From this, the best speakers compete against other schools – one of our toughest rivals being Volkskool at our annual Interschools clash. Our speechmakers learn to analyze topics and present interesting, thought-provoking content with excellent presentation skills. Speechmaking instills in our learners valuable life skills, preparing them for the world that awaits them.
