Cradock athletics

On the 23rd of March 2011, Union Preparatory took part at the Cradock evening athletics meeting held in Cradock. There were more than 10 different schools participating in the event. In total we had 7 athletes who all did exceptionally well in their 60m and 80m events  finishing mostly 2nd and 3rd . During the finals Kwhezi Simon finished 4th in the 80m for boys u/9 and Hlonela Khali finished 1st in the 80m for boys u/7! We were very proud of our children because of their outstanding performance and excellent behavior representing our School to the fullest!

Athletics at LVS

On Monday 7 March 2011 Laer-Volkskool hosted their  annual evening athletics meeting, in total 17 of our Prep School athletes participated and did very well, never falling behind and made the other athletes work for their positions.

Well done to all our athletes who participated, we know you gave your best and that you will only get better as you grow older.

Swimming

Union Preparatory School took part in the Interschools Gala which was held in Cradock on the 23rd of February. The prep swimmers were very eager and made us proud! Katherine Murray broke records in both Freestyle and Backstroke in the u/9 age group. Bowen Langmead, Malcolm Kroon, Rochelle Pienaar and Katherine were chosen to form part of the Karoo Team that will take part in the Triangular gala, held in Grahamstown on the 19th of March. 

Katherine Murray was also selected to take part in the Top 8 Gala, which was held in Port Elizabeth on the 12th of March. She won a gold medal for Backstroke and Freestyle. What an achievement! Well done Katherine! 

Union Preparatory held their interhouse gala on 28th of March. Noa Cilliers was chosen as Victor Ludorum and Katherine Murray as Victrix Ludorum. Daly was the winning house.

U11/A Vs Knysna Sports School

Union won the toss, batting in a rain interrupted 25 over game and made 71/7. Brett Amsterdam 8 not out and Mike krige 5 not out did well in the last 3 overs. 

Knysna got 73/5.  Bowlers: Luke McNaughton 1/15, Matthew Broeksma 1/20; Brett Amsterdam 1/14; The best bowler was Mike Krige with 2/4.
