“Interact clubs bring together young people to develop leadership skills while discovering he power of Service Above All.”

The above slogan is underwritten by the objective of the Rotary club.

Whilst Union High Interact is not affiliated with a Rotary club, the principles of serving local communities in need and raising awareness in the school community is our main aim.

This year, the projects led by the Interact club included a Movie night and Autumn Ball in March. In term 2, a very successful Sandwich drive had all grades enthusiastic in preparing and delivering sandwiches to needy communities in Graaff-Reinet.

Term 3 saw the Interact club run a Canned Food Drive and in October a Shoebox project was run and delivered to Siya Phambili Shelter for Abused women.

A very successful Heritage Day, supported by so many of our parents was held, with colourful outfits and scrumptious traditional dishes. It was truly such a wonderful day of learning and embracing our rich culture.

None of the projects undertaken can be done without the broader school community and for this we are forever grateful.
