"When the artist is alive in any person, whatever his kind of work may be, he becomes an inventive, searching, daring, self-expressive creature. He becomes interesting to other people. He disturbs, upsets, enlightens and opens ways for better understanding." -ย Roabert Henri (1865 โ€“ 1929), American painter & teacher.

Our cultural department offers a variety of extra mural activities to our learners.

Each year musical productions are staged, alternating between the middle and high schools.

Speech evenings are held twice a year and a general knowledge quiz takes place in term 2.

Auditions are undertaken at the beginning of the year for choir and marimba and they perform at various events

Union hosts the Camdeboo Eisteddfod in term 3, where learners are encouraged to participate in various disciplines.

Both junior and senior chess teaches our learners tactical skills and critical thinking.

Our media team works hard during productions as they become skilled in lighting, sound and recording events.

Cultural excellence is rewarded by accumulating cultural points in the high school as learners work towards colours.

Cultural activities aid the development of the WHOLE child and we encourage participation at all levels.
