In a bid to inspire our learners to write more poetry, the โ๐ฉ๐ฒ๐ฟ๐๐ฒ๐ ๐๐ ๐ฉ๐ฒ๐ฟ๐๐ฒ๐โ ๐ฝ๐ผ๐ฒ๐๐ฟ๐ ๐ฐ๐ผ๐บ๐ฝ๐ฒ๐๐ถ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป was introduced in 2021.
Names were removed from 15 entries and a panel judged the poems which resulted in Brigette Oelofsen, Vivian McEwan and Naโeem Mahomed being chosen as winners.

Ten poems were shortlisted and these poets were invited to an evening of poetry and pizza at the home of Union educator, Mrs Bronwen Langmead. The topics of the poems ranged from descriptions of a special pet, to the emotional journey between a father and son.

The poems โWe real coolโ and โNothing Gold can Stayโ were also discussed and the group learned of the strength of a few, powerful, carefully chosen words.
