This weekend saw a thrilling set of hockey matches between the St Michael’s School for Girls and Union High School, Graaff-Reinet being played on Saturday, 27 May, at the Union High School AstroTurf.
The match between the two schools’ 1st teams, saw the Union side dominate the game from start to finish. The team demonstrated their skill and teamwork as they scored 3 fantastic goals, securing a well-deserved 3-0 victory.
𝙐𝙣𝙞𝙤𝙣’𝙨 2𝙣𝙙 𝙩𝙚𝙖𝙢 𝙖𝙡𝙨𝙤 𝙥𝙪𝙩 𝙤𝙣 𝙖 𝙙𝙤𝙢𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙣𝙩 𝙥𝙚𝙧𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙢𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙚, 𝙨𝙚𝙘𝙪𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙖 4-1 𝙬𝙞𝙣 𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙧 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙞𝙧 𝙤𝙥𝙥𝙤𝙣𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙨. The team displayed excellent coordination and teamwork throughout the game, with players supporting and encouraging one another, resulting in a deserved victory.
Meanwhile, Union’s u/16A team enjoyed a tight match and managed to secure a 1-0 win. The team demonstrated exemplary sportsmanship and worked tirelessly to win, holding off their opponents to earn a valuable victory.
Despite a valiant effort, Union’s u/14A team had a tough match and lost 3-0. The team showed admirable resilience and determination, but could not turn their efforts into a win.
