We are incredibly proud of the Union High School contingent that participated in this past Sunday’s sea mile in Gqeberha.
𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝟭𝟬𝟭𝘀𝘁 𝗥𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗲 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝗮 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗱𝗮𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲, with swimmers navigating the waters from Kings Beach to Hobie Beach.
𝘋𝘦𝘴𝘱𝘪𝘵𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘩𝘪𝘧𝘵 𝘪𝘯 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘥𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴, 𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘴𝘸𝘪𝘮𝘮𝘦𝘳𝘴 𝘣𝘳𝘢𝘷𝘦𝘭𝘺 𝘵𝘰𝘰𝘬 𝘰𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘤𝘩𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘦𝘯𝘨𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘮𝘦𝘥 𝘦𝘹𝘤𝘦𝘱𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘸𝘦𝘭𝘭 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘪𝘳 𝘧𝘪𝘳𝘴𝘵 𝘢𝘵𝘵𝘦𝘮𝘱𝘵 𝘢𝘵 𝘢 𝘴𝘦𝘢 𝘮𝘪𝘭𝘦!
● Among the standout performances, Grade 7 learner 𝗔𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗾𝘂𝗲 𝗞𝘆𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮-𝗞𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘇𝗮 shone brightly, participating in the u/16 female half mile. Angelique won her category with an impressive time of 15:37.
● Union swim coach 𝗠𝗿𝘀 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗲 𝗗𝗮𝘃𝗲𝗻𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 also participated in the full Ladies Mile, finishing 20th overall with a time of 30:43.
● 𝗚𝗲𝗿𝗱𝗮 𝗖𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲 had a fantastic outing, completing the Ladies Mile in 26:41, which earned her a commendable 13th place overall.
● 𝗭𝗼ë 𝗠𝗶𝗹𝗹𝘀 also made her mark, finishing in 11th place with a time of 26:28.
● In the Men’s Mile, 𝗕𝗲𝗻 𝗟𝗲𝗺𝗸𝗲 swam to a time of 24:25, finishing 18th overall, while Union educators 𝗠𝗿 𝗝𝗣 𝗞𝗿𝘂𝗴𝗲𝗿 and 𝗠𝗿 𝗛𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗼 𝗦𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗶𝘂𝘀 completed the race in 37:20 and 35:47, securing 55th and 54th places respectively. 𝗗𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗲𝗹 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗶𝘀 also participated, finishing in 35:46 and coming in 53rd overall.
● Not to be overlooked, Union mom 𝗔𝗻𝗻𝗮 𝗖𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲 participated in the Ladies Mile, finishing strong with a time of 25:40, earning her 8th overall position.
𝘊𝘰𝘯𝘨𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘶𝘭𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴 𝘵𝘰 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘴𝘸𝘪𝘮𝘮𝘦𝘳𝘴 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘢 𝘧𝘢𝘯𝘵𝘢𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘤 𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘮𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘦!
