White Blazer Presented To Samantha Charles

At Union High School’s 2026 Academic Awards Assembly earlier this morning, Friday, 16 January, the highly coveted 𝗪𝗛𝗜𝗧𝗘 𝗕𝗟𝗔𝗭𝗘𝗥 was proudly presented to Grade 12 learner 𝗦𝗮𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗵𝗮 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗹𝗲𝘀.

The blazer was presented to her in recognition of her well-deserved Honours Award. (𝘈𝘯 𝘏𝘰𝘯𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘴 𝘈𝘸𝘢𝘳𝘥 𝘪𝘴 𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘩𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘦𝘴𝘵 𝘢𝘤𝘤𝘰𝘭𝘢𝘥𝘦𝘴 𝘱𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘢𝘵 𝘜𝘯𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘪𝘴 𝘰𝘯𝘭𝘺 𝘢𝘸𝘢𝘳𝘥𝘦𝘥 𝘰𝘯 𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺 𝘳𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘰𝘤𝘤𝘢𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴.)

𝙎𝙖𝙢𝙖𝙣𝙩𝙝𝙖 𝙬𝙖𝙨 𝙖𝙬𝙖𝙧𝙙𝙚𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙃𝙤𝙣𝙤𝙪𝙧𝙨 𝘼𝙬𝙖𝙧𝙙 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙚𝙭𝙘𝙚𝙥𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙖𝙡 𝙖𝙘𝙖𝙙𝙚𝙢𝙞𝙘 𝙖𝙘𝙝𝙞𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩, having maintained an impressive academic average of 90% throughout her Grade 10 and Grade 11 years.

Achieving success at this level is no small accomplishment. Samantha approaches every endeavour with purpose and determination and, while she is actively involved in all aspects of life at Union, she maintains an unwavering focus on her academic pursuits – a commitment that has allowed her to excel consistently.

𝗦𝗮𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗵𝗮 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗶𝘅𝘁𝗵 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗲𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘂𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱 since its inception in 2004, when it was first presented to Carl Bezuidenhout. She now joins an esteemed group of recipients who have had the honour of donning the white blazer: Sulette Damons (Class of 2007), Lynne Mugglestone (Class of 2007), Kelsey Minnaar (Class of 2017) and Caitrin Spence (Class of 2023).
