There are certain moments in a matric year that quietly remind you that school is coming to an end and todayโs Old Unionite Association induction was one of them.
Union High Schoolโs ๐๐๐๐ฆ๐ฆ ๐ข๐ ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ฎ๐ฒ gathered with members of the OUA committee as they were formally welcomed into the Association – ๐ฃ๐ฆ๐ค๐ฐ๐ฎ๐ช๐ฏ๐จ ๐ฑ๐ข๐ณ๐ต ๐ฐ๐ง ๐ข ๐ค๐ฐ๐ฎ๐ฎ๐ถ๐ฏ๐ช๐ต๐บ ๐ต๐ฉ๐ข๐ต ๐ฆ๐น๐ต๐ฆ๐ฏ๐ฅ๐ด ๐ธ๐ฆ๐ญ๐ญ ๐ฃ๐ฆ๐บ๐ฐ๐ฏ๐ฅ ๐ต๐ฉ๐ฆ๐ช๐ณ ๐บ๐ฆ๐ข๐ณ๐ด ๐ข๐ต ๐ด๐ค๐ฉ๐ฐ๐ฐ๐ญ.
OUA Chairman ๐ ๐ฟ ๐ฅ๐ต๐ฒ๐๐ ๐ก๐ฒ๐๐๐ผ๐ป spoke to the matrics about something quite simple, but important: ๐๐ต๐ฒ ๐๐ฎ๐น๐๐ฒ ๐ผ๐ณ ๐๐๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐ถ๐ป ๐๐ผ๐๐ฐ๐ต. He encouraged them to hold onto the friendships they have made at Union, to keep up with their classmates as life takes them in different directions and to remain connected to the school that has been such a big part of their lives.

As part of their induction, each matric was also gifted a beautiful leather Class of 2026 keyring by the OUA – ๐ฎ ๐๐บ๐ฎ๐น๐น ๐ธ๐ฒ๐ฒ๐ฝ๐๐ฎ๐ธ๐ฒ ๐๐ผ ๐บ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ธ ๐๐ต๐ฒ๐ถ๐ฟ ๐๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ป๐๐ถ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป from Union learners to Old Unionites.
Once the formalities were over, the OUA treated the Grade 12s to lunch – a chance simply to sit together, chat and enjoy one anotherโs company during these last few weeks of school.
Their time as Union learners may be drawing to a close, but today was a gentle reminder that ๐ฏ๐ฒ๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐ฝ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ ๐ผ๐ณ ๐จ๐ป๐ถ๐ผ๐ป ๐ฑ๐ผ๐ฒ๐๐ปโ๐ ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ฎ๐น๐น๐ ๐ฒ๐ป๐ฑ ๐๐ต๐ฒ๐ป ๐๐ผ๐ ๐น๐ฒ๐ฎ๐๐ฒ ๐๐ฐ๐ต๐ผ๐ผ๐น.
