The Eco Club was established by Educator, Jenny Street, in 2013. She has spent many years living and working in the ‘wild’, both in South Africa and Botswana, working in conservation and environmental education. Ms Jenny Nel has since joined Ms Street in the co-ordination of the Eco Club and the two educators co-manage the club successfully.
This club is open to all serious, young conservationists from Grades 5, 6 and 7 who meet once a week on Wednesdays between16h00 to 17h00. Members are encouraged to sign up for a term at a time. These weekly club activities promote discovery, examination, learning, games and activities at places of interest in and around our school. A wide variety of subjects including the weather, seasons, fauna and flora, the elements, as well as, health and safety are included annually. Membership of this club enriches and supports many aspects of our academic curriculum and prepares learners for life in our changing world.
