This past Wednesday morning, 22 January, saw the official start of Union High School’s year-long Interhouse competition, with the much-anticipated ๐ฆ๐๐ก๐๐ข๐ฅ ๐๐ก๐ง๐๐ฅ๐๐ข๐จ๐ฆ๐ ๐๐ง๐๐๐๐ง๐๐๐ฆ ๐๐๐ฌ.

The Arnott and Daly athletes showcased their talents in numbers, running, jumping and throwing with an enthusiasm that was contagious.
After a sun-soaked day of competition, they triumphantly seized the win with a final score of 584 to 561, breaking Arnottโs impressive winning streak of more than 10 years!

โข ๐ซ๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ฒ๐ฟ ๐๐ฎ๐ฟ๐น๐ผ๐ (u/19): Dominated the field with 1st place finishes in the 100m, High Jump and Long Jump, along with 2nd in the 200m and 3rd in the 400m.
โข ๐๐ฎ๐ป๐ถ๐ฒ๐น ๐ ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ถ๐ (u/19): Showcased his versatility, clinching 1st in the 400m and 200m, and securing 2nd in both the 100m and High Jump.

โข Brothers, ๐๐ฒ๐ป (u/17) and ๐ ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ธ (u/15) ๐๐ฒ๐บ๐ธ๐ฒ, claimed 1st places in exactly the same events in their respective age groups – the 800m, 1500m and 3000m).

โข ๐ ๐ถ๐น๐ฒ๐ ๐๐๐ฟ๐ด๐ฒ๐ฟ (u/15): A standout with a 1st place in both the High Jump and Long Jump and 3rd in the 100m.
๐๐บ๐ผ๐ป๐ด ๐๐ต๐ฒ ๐ด๐ถ๐ฟ๐น๐, ๐๐ต๐ฒ ๐๐ผ๐ฝ ๐ณ๐ผ๐๐ฟ ๐ฝ๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ณ๐ผ๐ฟ๐บ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฐ๐ฒ๐, as recognised by Athletics South Africa scoring, included Demi Kretzmanโs impressive throw of 7.24m in the u/19 Shot Put. The u/15 100m race was a nail-biter, featuring a photo finish with Ntando Mtshali, Anna-Rose de Wet and Miley Burger clocking times of 14.84s, 14.85s, and 14.86s respectively.
