Talent Shines At Inaugural Eisteddfod

The inaugural Camdeboo Eisteddfod came alive with talent and creativity when it recently graced the stage in Graaff-Reinet.

𝘍𝘰𝘳 𝘢 𝘧𝘶𝘭𝘭 𝘵𝘩𝘳𝘦𝘦 𝘥𝘢𝘺𝘴 – 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘞𝘦𝘥𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘥𝘢𝘺, 23 𝘈𝘶𝘨𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘍𝘳𝘪𝘥𝘢𝘺, 25 𝘈𝘶𝘨𝘶𝘴𝘵 – 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘜𝘯𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘏𝘪𝘨𝘩 𝘚𝘤𝘩𝘰𝘰𝘭 𝘱𝘭𝘢𝘺𝘦𝘥 𝘩𝘰𝘴𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘮𝘦𝘳𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘢𝘨𝘦𝘴, 𝘸𝘩𝘰 𝘴𝘩𝘰𝘸𝘤𝘢𝘴𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘪𝘳 𝘳𝘦𝘮𝘢𝘳𝘬𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘦 𝘢𝘣𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘦𝘴 𝘪𝘯 𝘴𝘱𝘦𝘦𝘤𝘩, 𝘥𝘳𝘢𝘮𝘢, 𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘪𝘯𝘨, 𝘪𝘯𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘶𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘢𝘭 𝘮𝘶𝘴𝘪𝘤 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘷𝘢𝘳𝘪𝘰𝘶𝘴 𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘢𝘳𝘵 𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘮𝘴.

The event was not only a platform for learners to exhibit their talents, but also an opportunity to foster a supportive environment where learners could be recognised and celebrated for their performance abilities.

Mrs Bronwen Langmead, the Head of Culture at Union High School, expressed her delight at the positive feedback received from all those who attended this event. “𝘞𝘦 𝘸𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘸𝘩𝘦𝘭𝘮𝘦𝘥 𝘣𝘺 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘵𝘢𝘭𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘸𝘦 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘦𝘥 𝘰𝘯 𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘨𝘦 𝘥𝘢𝘺 𝘢𝘧𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘥𝘢𝘺. 𝘐𝘵’𝘴 𝘵𝘳𝘶𝘭𝘺 𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘦𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘰 𝘴𝘦𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘳𝘪𝘷𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘪𝘯 𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘴𝘤𝘩𝘰𝘰𝘭𝘴,” she said.

The performances were evaluated by esteemed adjudicators who ensured that excellence was celebrated and rewarded. The diverse showcase of talents helped demonstrate the depth of artistic abilities in the community, leaving the audiences in awe of the remarkable performances.

Mrs Langmead further added, “𝘞𝘦 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘪𝘯𝘤𝘳𝘦𝘥𝘪𝘣𝘭𝘺 𝘩𝘰𝘯𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘰 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘣𝘦𝘦𝘯 𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘵𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘥 𝘣𝘺 𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘢𝘮𝘢𝘻𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘯𝘦𝘳𝘴. 𝘛𝘩𝘦𝘪𝘳 𝘱𝘢𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘥𝘦𝘥𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘭𝘦𝘧𝘵 𝘢𝘯 𝘪𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘭𝘪𝘣𝘭𝘦 𝘮𝘢𝘳𝘬 𝘪𝘯 𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘴. 𝘞𝘦 𝘦𝘢𝘨𝘦𝘳𝘭𝘺 𝘭𝘰𝘰𝘬 𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘸𝘢𝘳𝘥 𝘵𝘰 𝘯𝘦𝘹𝘵 𝘺𝘦𝘢𝘳’𝘴 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘯𝘵, 𝘸𝘩𝘪𝘤𝘩 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘮𝘪𝘴𝘦𝘴 𝘵𝘰 𝘣𝘦 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘯 𝘣𝘪𝘨𝘨𝘦𝘳 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘣𝘦𝘵𝘵𝘦𝘳!”

The success of the inaugural Camdeboo Eisteddfod has undoubtedly set the stage for future events, inspiring even greater participation and showcasing the talents of more individuals.
