
Union High School is proud to celebrate the achievements of four of our learners – Chloe-Anne Fourie, Sinead Christoffels, Elizabeth Fourie and Matthew Christoffels – who participated in the MASA (Mixed Martial Arts South Africa) Championship on Saturday, 10 May.
𝗧𝗵𝗲𝘀𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝘀𝘁𝘀 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘄𝗰𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲, 𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗲𝗹𝗹-𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗲𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗴𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗲𝗳𝗳𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘀.
As a result of their exceptional performances, all four have been selected to represent the Eastern Cape at the National Championships taking place in Gauteng on 14 and 15 June.
𝗖𝗵𝗹𝗼𝗲-𝗔𝗻𝗻𝗲 𝗙𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗲 secured second place in no fewer than four categories: MMA Light, Grappling, Continuous and Points Fight.
𝗘𝗹𝗶𝘇𝗮𝗯𝗲𝘁𝗵 𝗙𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗲 also impressed, earning a second place in Points Fight and a third in Grappling. 𝗦𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗖𝗵𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗹𝘀 brought home two silver medals in Grappling and Points Fight, while 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘄 𝗖𝗵𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗹𝘀 dominated in his events, taking home two gold medals – one in Continuous and one in Grappling.
𝘞𝘦 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘴𝘦 𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘯𝘦𝘳𝘴 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘪𝘳 𝘰𝘶𝘵𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘯𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘸𝘪𝘴𝘩 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘮 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺 𝘣𝘦𝘴𝘵 𝘢𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘱𝘳𝘦𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘱𝘦𝘵𝘦 𝘢𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘯𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘭 𝘭𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘭.
