SA Performing Arts Championship Finals – Well Done, Emily

Union High School is proud to share that Grade 7 learner, 𝗘𝗺𝗶𝗹𝘆 𝗥𝗮𝗮𝘁𝗵, has advanced to the national finals of the prestigious 𝗦𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗔𝗳𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗔𝗿𝘁𝘀 (𝗦𝗔𝗖𝗢𝗣𝗔) following a series of remarkable performances at the recent semi-final auditions.

𝘚𝘈𝘊𝘖𝘗𝘈, 𝘩𝘦𝘭𝘥 𝘪𝘯 𝘳𝘦𝘨𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘭 𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘥𝘴 𝘢𝘤𝘳𝘰𝘴𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘵𝘳𝘺, 𝘩𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘭𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵𝘴 𝘴𝘰𝘮𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘚𝘰𝘶𝘵𝘩 𝘈𝘧𝘳𝘪𝘤𝘢’𝘴 𝘮𝘰𝘴𝘵 𝘵𝘢𝘭𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘮𝘪𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘨 𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘮𝘦𝘳𝘴.

Emily stood out with her exceptional vocal talent, earning her a place in the Solo Vocals category at the national finals, which will take place in Rustenburg from 3 to 11 October.

During the semi-finals in De Aar this past weekend, 𝗘𝗺𝗶𝗹𝘆 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝗰𝗿𝗼𝘀𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘃𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗿𝗲𝘀, impressing judges with her versatility, emotional range and technical skill. Her performances not only captured the spirit of each genre but also demonstrated the heart and dedication she pours into her craft.

Securing a spot in the national finals brings Emily one step closer to an incredible opportunity – joining 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗦𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗔𝗳𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗮 and representing the country at the World Championships of Performing Arts (WCOPA) in Los Angeles, an international platform where young artists compete at the highest level.
