It was a good afternoon of cricket at Union High School today, Monday, 12 October, as our 𝟭𝘀𝘁 𝗫𝗜 and 𝗨𝟭𝟱𝗔 teams welcomed Hoër Landbouskool Marlow for two T20 encounters.
Our 𝟭𝘀𝘁 𝗫𝗜 put together an impressive 179/2 in their 20 overs, with Callum Jacobs leading the way with an unbeaten 71, well supported by Leander Kraai (41*) and Richard Murray (39).
The bowlers then made short work of Marlow’s batting line-up, dismissing the visitors for just 43. Alex Hunter was particularly impressive with figures of 4/8, while Richard Murray claimed 3/23, securing a 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗳𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝟭𝟯𝟲-𝗿𝘂𝗻 𝘃𝗶𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆.
Our 𝗨𝟭𝟱𝗔 boys were equally impressive, posting 163/6 thanks largely to a superb knock of 91 off just 47 balls from Dante Mills.
Marlow were then bowled out for 56, with Kwezi Molonga taking 4/9, Timna Qomfo 2/3 and Luandle Dali 2/9, giving Union a 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝟭𝟬𝟳-𝗿𝘂𝗻 𝘄𝗶𝗻.
Two lovely team performances, some excellent individual contributions and a very encouraging afternoon for Union cricket.
