๐ฆ๐๐ป๐ฑ๐ฎ๐, ๐ญ ๐ก๐ผ๐๐ฒ๐บ๐ฏ๐ฒ๐ฟ, saw our Union swimmers take to the water at ๐ ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ถ๐ป๐ฎ ๐ ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐๐ถ๐ป๐ถ๐พ๐๐ฒ ๐ถ๐ป ๐๐ฒ๐ณ๐ณ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐๐ ๐๐ฎ๐ for the opening round of the Zsports Events SA and NMBA-sanctioned open water swim series.
Thereโs a different challenge to swimming beyond the familiar lanes of a pool and it was lovely to see Union represented by a group ready to give it a go.
In the ๐ญ๐ธ๐บ ๐ฒ๐๐ฒ๐ป๐, ๐๐ฎ๐ป ๐๐ฎ๐๐ฒ๐ป๐ฝ๐ผ๐ฟ๐ placed ๐๐ต๐ถ๐ฟ๐ฑ in 15:18, followed by ๐๐ฎ๐๐ฑ๐ฒ๐ป ๐ง๐ต๐ผ๐บ๐ฝ๐๐ผ๐ป in 10th (17:37), ๐ญ๐ผรซ ๐ ๐ถ๐น๐น๐ in 11th (17:40), ๐๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ฒ ๐๐ฎ๐๐ฒ๐ป๐ฝ๐ผ๐ฟ๐ in 15th (17:50) and ๐๐ฎ๐๐ฒ ๐ฆ๐ฐ๐ผ๐๐, who finished in 17:56.
Taking on the longer ๐ฏ๐ธ๐บ ๐๐๐ถ๐บ, ๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ฑ๐ฎ ๐๐น๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ธ๐ฒ earned ๐๐ต๐ถ๐ฟ๐ฑ ๐ฝ๐น๐ฎ๐ฐ๐ฒ in 54:52, while swim coach ๐ก๐ฎ๐๐ฎ๐น๐ถ๐ฒ ๐๐ฎ๐๐ฒ๐ป๐ฝ๐ผ๐ฟ๐ led by example, placing ๐ณ๐ถ๐ฟ๐๐ in 58:18.
๐๐ฆ๐ญ๐ญ ๐ฅ๐ฐ๐ฏ๐ฆ ๐ต๐ฐ ๐ข๐ญ๐ญ ๐ฐ๐ถ๐ณ ๐ด๐ธ๐ช๐ฎ๐ฎ๐ฆ๐ณ๐ด on their efforts over both distances and thank you to Mrs Davenport for the encouragement and guidance she brings to their swimming.
