Well Done, Neelon

Towards the end of 2024, Union High School chess player 𝗡𝗲𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗻 𝗙𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗲 was selected by the Department of Education to represent the Eastern Cape u/18 team at a tournament from 16 to 20 December in Polokwane – an event that served as national trials.

𝘕𝘦𝘦𝘭𝘰𝘯 𝘸𝘰𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘳𝘦𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘴𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘯 𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘤𝘩𝘦𝘴, 𝘱𝘭𝘢𝘺𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘨𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘴𝘵 𝘴𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘰𝘯𝘦𝘥 𝘱𝘭𝘢𝘺𝘦𝘳𝘴 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺 𝘩𝘪𝘨𝘩 𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘴, 𝘪𝘯𝘤𝘭𝘶𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘸𝘰 𝘊𝘔’𝘴 (𝘊𝘢𝘯𝘥𝘪𝘥𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘴 𝘔𝘢𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘴).

Neelon has previously attended the South African Union Chess Championships twice in Johannesburg.

Through hard work and dedication he has improved his chess skills, to a level that is enabling him to compete with confidence against his opponents.
