While Daly has already enjoyed success on the sporting fields this year, the House also showed its academic strength by claiming top honours in this yearโ€™s battle of brains, finishing on ๐Ÿญ๐Ÿฎ๐Ÿญ points, just ahead of Arnott on ๐Ÿญ๐Ÿญ๐Ÿฒ.

The event was a wonderful reminder that learning and competition can go hand in hand with fun and friendship.

Union High School’s 1st XI delivered a strong all-round performance against Cradock High School on Saturday, 30 January, after winning the toss and choosing to bat.

Captain ๐—ฌ๐—ฎ๐—ฎ๐˜€๐—ฒ๐—ฒ๐—ป ๐—ž๐—ฎ๐˜‡๐—ถ added a composed 91, while ๐—–๐—ฎ๐—น๐—น๐˜‚๐—บ ๐—๐—ฎ๐—ฐ๐—ผ๐—ฏ๐˜€โ€™ quick 63 helped Union finish their innings on a positive note.

In reply, Cradock found it tough against a disciplined Union bowling attack and were bowled out for 47. ๐—ฌ๐—ผ๐—ป๐—ฒ๐—น๐—ฎ ๐—ช๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ฎ impressed with 5 wickets and Yaaseen Kazi followed up his batting with a tidy spell of 5 for 18. U/15 Cricket vs HVS – Results

On Saturday, 30 January, Union High School’s u15A cricket team delivered a composed performance against their Hoรซr Volkskool Graaff-Reinet counterparts, securing a 110-run victory.

After winning the toss, Union elected to bat first and built a competitive total of 159 runs, with ๐—ก๐—ฎ๐˜๐—ต๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ฒ๐—ฎ๐—น ๐—ฃ๐—ต๐—ถ๐—น๐—น๐—ถ๐—ฝ๐˜€ leading the way with a top score of 29. The boys showed great determination at the crease, working patiently and supporting one another to set a strong foundation for the match.

Defending their total, Unionโ€™s bowlers produced a dominant display. ๐—ž๐˜„๐—ฒ๐˜‡๐—ถ ๐— ๐—ผ๐—น๐—ผ๐—ป๐—ด๐—ฎ was outstanding, delivering a superb spell of 6 overs, including 2 maidens and claiming 3 wickets for just 8 runs.

He was well supported by ๐—ง๐—ต๐—ถ๐—บ๐—ป๐—ฎ ๐—ค๐—ผ๐—บ๐—ณ๐˜‚, who added further pressure with 3 wickets for 17 runs.

Together, the bowling attack dismantled the Volkskool batting lineup and sealed a comprehensive win.

Union High School is proud to announce the newly elected leaders of the school’s 2026 Representative Council of Learners (RCL).

Grade 12 learner ๐—ฆ๐—ถ๐—บ๐—ถ๐—น๐—ผ ๐— ๐˜ƒ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ฑ๐—ฎ๐—ฏ๐—ฎ has been elected as president, while ๐— ๐—ฒ๐—ด๐—ฎ๐—ป ๐—ฃ๐˜‚๐˜๐˜๐—ฒ๐—ฟ assumes the role of vice-president.

Gerda and Jasmine competed in the u16 Girls category, with Jasmine helping her team achieve a fourth-place finish, while Nina represented the province in the u20 team event (earning a third-place finish) and also competed in the u18 individual category.
