Junior Interhouse Athletics

Friday, 2 February, saw the Union Schools’ annual 𝗝𝗨𝗡𝗜𝗢𝗥 𝗜𝗡𝗧𝗘𝗥𝗛𝗢𝗨𝗦𝗘 𝗔𝗧𝗛𝗟𝗘𝗧𝗜𝗖𝗦 𝗗𝗔𝗬 for Grade 1 to 7 learners being held.

The year-long rivalry between Arnott House (in blue) and Daly House (in red) was kicked off in fine style, as the young athletes gave it their all in various track and field events.

There were many proud moments and shared joy throughout the day, as the learners cheered on their classmates and showcased their athletic abilities.

𝗖𝗢𝗡𝗚𝗥𝗔𝗧𝗨𝗟𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗦 are in order for Arnott House, who clinched the victory with an impressive 1446 points, compared to Daly’s 1314 points.

𝘐𝘵 𝘸𝘢𝘴 𝘢 𝘥𝘢𝘺 𝘰𝘧 𝘰𝘶𝘵𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘯𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘮𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘦𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘴𝘩𝘢𝘳𝘦𝘥 𝘤𝘦𝘭𝘦𝘣𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴. 𝘎𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵 𝘫𝘰𝘣 𝘵𝘰 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘪𝘱𝘢𝘯𝘵𝘴 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘮𝘢𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘪𝘵 𝘴𝘶𝘤𝘩 𝘢 𝘮𝘦𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘦 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘯𝘵.

𝗜𝗻 𝗮𝗱𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗱𝘀, 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗲 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗴𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻:

• 𝗥𝗮𝘆𝗱𝗼𝗻 𝗛𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗸𝘀, who competed in the Boys u/11 category, secured the first position in the 1200m event. He also set a new record in the 800m race and achieved second place in the 80m, 100m and long jump events.

• 𝗧𝗮𝘆𝗹𝗼𝗿 𝗝𝗮𝗰𝗼𝗯𝘀, a participant in the Girls u/11 category, not only broke the record in the 800m race but also secured the second position in the 1200m event. She demonstrated her versatility by achieving third place in the 100m, first place in the long jump and second place in shot put and 80m events.

• 𝗛𝗮𝘆𝗹𝗲𝘆 𝗞𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗲, competing in the Girls u/12 category, secured first place in the 1200m event and set a new record in the 800m race. She also achieved joint first place in the 150m event, third place in the 100m and high jump.

• 𝗔𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗾𝘂𝗲 𝗞𝘆𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮-𝗞𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘇𝗮, participating in the Girls u/12 category, delivered an outstanding performance by securing first place in the 100m, long jump and shot put events. She also set a new record in the high jump and achieved second place in the 150m event.

• 𝗥𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗹 𝗪𝗲𝗻𝗵𝗮𝗺, competing in the Girls u/13 category, secured first place in the 1500m and 800m events. She also achieved second place in the 200m and 100m events, as well as third place in long jump.

• 𝗠𝗶𝗹𝗲𝘆 𝗕𝘂𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗿, participating in the Girls u/13 category, secured first place in five different events: 100m, 200m, long jump, shot put and high jump.

• 𝗝𝗼𝗿𝗱𝗮𝗻 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘇, competing in the Boys u/13 category, claimed 1st place in the 100m, 200m, 800m, long jump and high jump. He also achieved second place in shot put.

𝘞𝘦 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘪𝘯𝘤𝘳𝘦𝘥𝘪𝘣𝘭𝘺 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘥 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘪𝘳 𝘢𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘮 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘪𝘳 𝘩𝘢𝘳𝘥 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘬 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘪𝘵𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘪𝘳 𝘴𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵.
