Our senior and junior U13A hockey teams enjoyed a busy weekend of fixtures against Framesby and St Dominic’s Priory.
Friday, 15 May
Well done to our 𝗨𝟭𝟯𝗔 𝗚𝗜𝗥𝗟𝗦, who opened the weekend of hockey with a good, hard-fought match against Framesby’s U14A side this afternoon. After leading for much of the game, a late comeback from Framesby saw the match end 4-3 in their favour. 𝘈 𝘴𝘰𝘭𝘪𝘥 𝘦𝘧𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘵 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘨𝘪𝘳𝘭𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘢 𝘱𝘰𝘴𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘳𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘸𝘦𝘦𝘬𝘦𝘯𝘥.
It was a positive outing overall, highlighted by 𝗮 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝟳-𝟬 𝘄𝗶𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝟭𝘀𝘁 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺 against St Dominic’s Priory, while the U16A side added another solid result with a 2 – 0 victory and the U14As recorded a 5 – 0 win against St Dominic’s.
The U16B girls drew 2 – 2 against Framesby’s U16C team and although the U16C side went down 4 – 0 to Framesby’s U16B team, their effort and commitment throughout the match did not go unnoticed.
Saturday, 16 May
On Saturday, Union High School, Graaff-Reinet’s senior hockey girls hosted Hoërskool Framesby for a set of home fixtures.
𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝟭𝘀𝘁 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝘂𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗴𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺 with an exciting 5 – 3 win in a high-tempo match, while the 2nd team also produced a solid performance to claim a 3 – 1 victory.
The U16A, U16B and U14A teams faced tough opposition and unfortunately went down in their matches, while the U16C side responded well with a determined 2 – 0 victory.
𝘛𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘬 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘵𝘰 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘱𝘭𝘢𝘺𝘦𝘳𝘴, 𝘤𝘰𝘢𝘤𝘩𝘦𝘴, 𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘴𝘶𝘱𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘴 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘪𝘳 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘶𝘦𝘥 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘪𝘵𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘢𝘨𝘦𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘸𝘦𝘦𝘬𝘦𝘯𝘥.
